The bow points north…

The time has come to turn this boat around and start our journey back to the frozen tundra of New England. We are doing our final preps today and will depart Beaufort SC about 7:30 tomorrow morning. Our goal is to be back at SYC around the first two weeks of May (or sooner if the weather cooperates) which would put us in our slip around the same time we would normally launch for the season.

Early morning at Lady’s Island Marina

So I left off on the last post with me heading home earlier than expected so I could hang out with the family and enjoy the cold weather. The family part was great but the cold, not so much…🥶. As we got closer to March, the parties celebrating Denise’s retirement and bday started happening. We had a surprise party for her at her sister’s house in New York over a long weekend that everyone enjoyed.

It was also on that Sunday morning that Denise received the call that one of her team members has passed away suddenly the night before. I can’t even begin to explain the profound shock and sadness that Denise and her team felt over the following days but I was also witness to the comfort and support that everyone on her team and within the bank as a whole gave to each other and that was a good thing. Godspeed, Sarah…

It’s now 6:15 in the morning on departure day. All of our prep is completed and we’re just waiting for dawn to break so we can cast off our lines to begin the journey home. The anticipation of the trip home is mixed with a nervousness about what lies ahead for the crew of Infinity but our confidence level is high that Infinity will take excellent care of us as we will also take excellent care of her.

So welcome back aboard Infinity as we start the return voyage back to our home port of Groton CT!! I hope you enjoy the journey and please feel free to send us comments as we make our way!!

The crew of Infinity is ready to go!!

Next time on Infinity….Leaving Beaufort SC for point North!! ❤️❤️❤️
